British Health Minister Wes Streeting last year announced plans to medicate fat people in order to get them into work.
“Our widening waistbands are also placing a significant burden on our health service, costing the NHS 11bn pounds a year – even more than smoking. And it’s holding back our economy. Illness caused by obesity causes people to take an extra four sick days a year on average, while many others are forced out of work altogether,” Mr Streeting wrote in an opinion piece for the Telegraph.
It is understood by Rebel Wrath that senior Tory party leaders in the UK, now having invested in Lilly, the largest pharmaceutical company in the world, who are behind the weight loss drugs involved in the policy, have given the go ahead for the project. Labour leader PM Keir Stump has announced an immediate rollout which is sure to please his Tory overlords.
Speaking on Monday, Keir said “Eh, well, eh, I’ve been told it’s a good idea, and I don’t really have any good ideas of my own, so let’s see how it goes. It will benefit people and the economy.”
Criticising the move, UK health experts pointed out that specialist weight loss programmes only currently treat 49000 people per year, and millions might be eligible for the weight loss programme. “We’re going to decrease the pressure on the NHS by increasing the pressure on the NHS?” one expert, who wished to remain anonymous, asked.
