It is the view of Rebel Wrath that generative Artificial Intelligence is terrible. Generative AI is not actually intelligent, it is a series of algorithms only slightly more complicated than spellcheck. It is trained in work stolen from human creators. Its output is cliched garbage that cannot be copyrighted. Generative AI is damaging to the environment. It is costly and not worth the price and it is a shortcut to bypass the years of learning to become a good writer. It is not, in any form, worthwhile for creative pursuits.
Artificial Intelligence is terrible
- Rebel Wrath does not use generative AI in any writing, or for any image generation, at any time, and this will not be changing.
- Rebel Wrath does not support the use of generative AI in any writing or for any image generation.
- Rebel Wrath does not consent to any work on this site being scraped for generative AI learning.
- Rebel Wrath and Caledonia Fife do not consent to any of the books, written by Caledonia Fife and published by Rebel Wrath, being scraped for generative AI learning.
- Rebel Wrath opposes generative AI “creation” in all forms and supports sustainability in publishing and human creativity.
Artificial Intelligence has uses
Artificial Intelligence is fantastic at sorting through mass amounts of data and identifying patterns. This means that it is very useful in scientific fields. It’s already been useful in archaeology and in astrophysics. It could be also useful in artificial insemination. Artificial Intelligence is fantastic at sorting through mass amounts of data and identifying patterns. This means that it is very useful in scientific fields. It’s already been useful in archaeology and in astrophysics. It could be also useful in artificial insemination. It is already gathering every piece of data about you that you leave online, so expect incredibly personalised ads in your future, almost as if the advertisers know everything about you. This is iterative AI. Other than the environmental impact (which is concerning) and the cost (which is more than you think) iterative AI is useful.
Generative AI has no use and no purpose.
