After a climate change catastrophe befell Cumbernauld, Scotland, three weeks ago, the town is now being honoured for being the cleanest it has ever been.
A freak windstorm plucked 487 rabbits out of nearby fields and dropped them from such height that they splattered across the town centre. Cumbernauld has always been so drab and dreary that some people were pleased to see a splash of colour in the streets, even if that splash was blood and bone. However, others complained, and the local council responded by cleaning the streets with pressure hose teams.
The pressure hoses swept away decades of grime and left the once-gloomy town sparkling, in what has been termed a climate change win. Visitors have flocked to Cumbernauld, with more than six people going on their busiest day this year.
About the honour, one local said: “it feels really great, getting acknowledged for the work we done. That’s twice in a month we’ve had preys rained on us.”
